The Tusker lite Mount Rwenzori marathon is an annual event that started in September 2022 happening in Kasese, Uganda attracting over 6000 runners coming from about 36 countries. This event has now attracted a lot of investors both local and international making accommodations in Kasese selling like a hot cake since they attract a lot of tourists ready to participate in the marathon.
The Tusker lite Mount Rwenzori marathon now happens every year in Kasese municipality, south western Uganda near the border congo and in the foothills of Rwenzori mountains national park and the famous queen Elizabeth national park crossing the equator line.
The Tusker lite Mount Rwenzori marathon is co-sponsored by Tusker Lite (Uganda Breweries), standard chartered bank, ministry of Tourism, wildlife and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism board and Uganda wildlife Authority aimed at promoting tourist attractions in the region especially climbing mount Rwenzori and queen Elizabeth national park known as the medley of wonders. Participants always register online for their preferred races of 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km run.
